FLUX is a digital mobile game that requires physical motion (running, walking, etc.) to progress.

Inspired by games such as Temple Run and Subway Surfers; but with a twist of requiring the user to exercise in order to progress through the levels in lieu of physical gestures, whilst also keeping their vitals in check.

We discovered that millenials tend to spend about 223 minutes on their phone a day. The minimum requirement for exercise is 22 minutes a day...

Our team began researching possible ways to turn 20 minutes of phone-time into exercise time in order to help decrease this statistic, and thus FLUX was born.

THE ASTRAL PLANE - - - OUR SIMULATED GAMEWORLD

FLUX was designed and developed in Unity, a very flexible game engine used across the industry.

This flexibility allowed us to easily synchronize our game controls with a mobile phone's onboard accelerometer and various other sensors in order to control the viewpoint in-game.

Adopting this system paved the wave for powering forward movement through the action of jogging in place in order to accomplish objectives, jump over obstacles and avoid oncoming threats.
